Instructor and Teacher qualification

Please read carefully below. The Academy offers comprehensive training for Martial Arts teachers and instructors. Five types of qualifications are available:

Prerequisites for Acceptance to Courses

Assistant Instructor Basic Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 16
• Brown Belt.
• Recommended by an accredited Teacher.

Assistant Instructor Certification Requirements

• Graduation of a 25 hour course. 3 months apprenticeship tutored by an accredited Teacher who will certify the completion of the apprenticeship.

Assistant Instructor Certification Period

• The right to serve as Assistant Instructor in Martial Arts.

Instructor Basic Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 18
• 1st DAN Black Belt (Shodan)
• Recommended by an Academy accredited Teacher

Instructor Certification Requirements

• Graduation of a 50 hours course (or 25 hours, if he's a graduate of the Academy's "assistant intructor" course).
• 3 monthes apprenticeship tutored by an Academy accredited Teacher who will certify the completion of the apprenticeship.

Instructor Certification Period

• The right to serve as Instructor in Martial Arts.

Teacher Basic Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 23
• 3rd DAN Black Belt (Sandan).
• Recommended by an Academy accredited Teacher

Teacher Certification Requirements

• Graduation of a 100 hour course. (or 50 hours, if he is a graduate of the "assitant instructor" course).
• Teaching 12 training lessons in the presence of an examiner from the Academy or an Academy accredited Teacher.

Teacher Certification Period

• License to examine and to award Kyu degrees.

Senior Teacher Basic Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 30
• 4th DAN Black Belt (Yondan).
• Recommended by an Academy accredited Teacher.
• Certified activity as Teacher for 5 years or more.

Senior Teacher Certification Requirements

• Graduation of a 150 hour course (or 65 hours, if he's a graduate of the "Teacher" course).
• Teaching 12 training lessons in the presence of an examiner from the Academy or an Academy accredited Teacher.

Senior Teacher Certification Period

• License to examine apprentices and to award degrees up to 1st DAN (shodan).

Master Basic Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 37
• 6th DAN Black Belt (Rokudan).
• Recommended by an Academy accredited Master Teacher.
• 8 years or more of working experience.
• Graduate of the Academy "Teacher" and "Senior Teacher" courses.

Master Certification Requirements

• Presentation of a seminar thesis.
• Teaching 12 training lessons in the presence of an examiner from the Academy or an Academy accredited Teacher.

Master Certification Period

• License to examine apprentices and to award degrees up to 3rd DAN (Sandan).

Others

• The Academy will accredit previous studies and professional background.
• Reservation for courses should be directed to the Rector's chamber, Dr. Ron KLUGER.
• All courses are taught by Academy's staff members. In addition to the cost of the a course, the school will be responsible for transportation and full accommodation, such as full accommodation, such as food and lodging, for the teacher(s).
• For Ryuha/ Organizations/ Schools/ Dojos entitled to manage courses accredited by the International Budo Academy, see Courses and Advanced Training.
• Seminar thesis structure: As approved by the Academic Board.
• The student will provide two copies of the printed and bound thesis.
• The thesis will be in English.
